Boost Your Energy with Red Light and Methylene Blue Combo

BEGINNING

The technology of red light treatment first appeared in the 1980s. NASA used LED array light sources (630~800nm) in spaceships to restore the astronaut’s muscles and bones and accelerate the healing of wounds, got good results

NASA-developed light technology

Healing Wounds Faster

◦ In the late 1980s, NASA was studying LED technology for growing plants in space. The LEDs used were red and blue, as these wavelengths are efficient for photosynthesis.
◦ Interestingly, NASA scientists noticed that their hand abrasions healed faster when exposed to this LED lighting.
◦ Through experimentation, they found that high-intensity red and near-infrared LEDs significantly accelerated the healing of oxygen-deprived wounds in rats.
◦ These same LEDs also sped up the growth and proliferation of skin, bone, and muscle cell cultures from mice and rats .

NASA’s accidental discovery of red light’s healing properties has paved the way for light therapy in medicine. It’s a remarkable example of how scientific curiosity can lead to practical benefits for human health!

What is Red Light Therapy

OVERVIEW

Red light therapy is choosing the integrated light waves combine with above 90% visible light (600-700nm )and 10% infrared light(700-4000nm). Scientific research has shown that using this integrated light to irradiate body, convert light energy into heat energy and chemical energy. As a result, a series of chain reactions such as photolysis, photooxidation, photopolymerization and photosensitization occur in the body, Thereby producing important biological effects and achieving certain therapeutic effects.

Technical principle

Red light therapy is the use of specific wavelengths of light waves to cause the vibration of molecules to produce thermal effects, promote the absorption of various elements in the body and unblock the microcirculation channels.

Make the blood circulation smooth, accelerate the elimination of sick or dead cells, promote metabolism and the body’s self-healing function and cell regeneration ability, can be used for auxiliary treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, pain, inflammation and other diseases, as well as improve the body’s immunity, health care and eliminate sub-health.

Red light therapy can convert light energy into biological energy, effectively acting on the mitochondria of subcutaneous tissue cells, producing a highly efficient photochemical biological reaction: enzymatic reaction. Activating cytochrome oxidase C in mitochondria, and generating more energy to accelerate the synthesis of DNA and RNA, and promote the formation of a large amount of collagen and fibrous tissue, thereby repairing damaged skin cells. It also strengthens the skin through a broadband spectrum, promotes the formation of fibroblasts, and phagocytize the pigment cells, gradually whitening the complexion, and make the dull skin become transparent and radiant

Cellular Mechanism

◦ The science behind this lies in the mitochondria, the cellular powerhouses responsible for
metabolism.
◦ Red and infrared wavelengths are absorbed by cytochrome C oxidase, a key enzyme in cellular metabolism.
◦ This triggers a cascade of effects within the cell, improving overall cell function and relieving
oxidative stress.
◦ Oxidative stress contributes to inflammation, aging, and various illnesses like diabetes, cancer, and neurodegenerative diseases.

Red light therapy, also known as photobiomodulation (PBM) therapy, has gained attention for its potential therapeutic benefits in various conditions. While low-level laser therapy (LLLT) is a common form of PBM, there is growing interest in exploring the effects of red light therapy without low-level lasers. Here are some studies that focus on red light therapy excluding low-level lasers:

These studies demonstrate the potential of red light therapy as a non-invasive and effective treatment option for various conditions, including acne, hair loss, and chronic wounds. However, more research is needed to fully understand its mechanisms of action and optimize its therapeutic protocols.

A quick search on PubMed of the various terms describing light therapy reveals over 50,000 published scientific and clinical studies.  The following list is from January 2018.  And indeed, it’s even higher now.  For those of you who aren’t aware, PubMed is the US National Library of Medicine where most studies are arranged;  like a search engine for scientific studies.  It’s a valuable resource.
